Monochromatic Red Wedding at Deep Eddy Distillery

Thinking outside the box doesn’t need to compromise sophistication or elegance, and this gorgeous monochromatic red wedding at Deep Eddy Distillery in Austin, Texas is the perfect example of that. This eye-popping styled shoot is featured in the Fall/Winter 2019 issue of Brides of Austin wedding magazine – their 5thAnniversary Issue!

What a pleasure it was working with so many talented designers, planners, and wedding professionals who helped pull this creative look together (talented is obviously an understatement – this team of vendors is brilliant!). The fact that they could all come together to flawlessly pull of such a unique vision is a true testament to their skills.

What I love most about this dual fall and winter design is that it does not follow traditional seasonal colors. I often hear brides and grooms say that they love the idea of a winter wedding (especially in Texas since it’s a little cooler), but they don’t want it to feel holiday themed. They want a romantic look for their wedding – something that says this is their special day. This shoot incorporates rich red and burgundy shades and some cozy wintertime elements like the firewood, mantel, and hearth without making you think of horse-drawn sleighs. It’s distinctly bridal.

While some elements of styled shoots may be too much for many couples, just like a fashion runway, it “isn’t necessarily designed with practicality in mind; we tend to design our styled shoots from an editorial standpoint. What we’re trying to do is inspire couples to take certain elements that they love and incorporate those into a design that works for them.” –Trademark Wedding & Events Coordinators

Do you see something in this slightly avant-garde theme that speaks to you? Use it as inspiration, and make it your own! Leave us a comment below with your favorite detail!

And I can’t forget to mention the beautiful models who make the theme come alive. Their chemistry is spot on. I’m not sure it can get any more romantic than this. The spark between them feels so real – maybe because it is! These two are an actual couple who are soon-to-be wed in a couple months. Not every couple gets a pre-wedding run through like this. I think they nailed it, and I can only imagine how beautiful their real wedding day will be! (Does this count as an engagement session?)
