Austin Same-Sex Wedding Photographer | Roadside Relics and Butler Park

Erin and Diana have had the sweetest journey. It may seem like an interesting choice to have a destination wedding in Austin, Texas (most people imagine the mountains or beach for those), but you have to go where your heart is. Austin is so special to these two because they met in this vibrant, unique city. And really, I’ve met few people who didn’t fall in love with Austin once they really experienced it. I honestly think that Austin will be emerging as a major destination wedding market due to the plethora of vendor talent!

Erin is a photographer too, which can be a little daunting, but also so fun and challenging because she was excited for some super creative shots. What an honor that she chose me to document their engagement session and wedding! Check out their feature and my images on Equally Wed! They did an awesome engagement session two days before their wedding (since they had to travel here). We went over to the iconic “Greetings from Austin” sign outside Roadside Relics. When done right, neon always looks really cool in pictures. This is one of my favorite locations for colorful vintage photos, and it really complemented their fun, live-life-to-the-fullest personality.

The couple had already been dating for 7 years leading up to this big day. They had been looking forward to their wedding day for months, so why not take time to really enjoy it with a week-long wedding celebration with friends and family. The ceremony took place on a gorgeous sunny day at Butler Park, overlooking the skyline. Their loved ones passed around the rings for individual blessings during the intimate family-only ceremony. Their super cute little niece clapped & cheered them on. The park is usually very busy, but magically cleared out and was just us for the ceremony!

After the ceremony, we walked around taking more couple’s portraits and enjoying the spring weather. My favorite photo is of them holding hands on top of hill. Then, we walked over to Long Center for more photos where I had fun with creative framing & architecture! They are a beautiful couple, and I wish them the very best on their adventures ahead! Cheers, friends!
