Brazos Hall Wedding on Rooftop in Downtown Austin
This wedding had SO many beautiful personalized touches. Every time I thought I had a seen it all, another fantastic little detail would pop up. I love how they truly made their wedding day a celebration of their unique relationship and the family and friends who love them.
About this sweet couple and their special day
Cristine and Keith live in NYC, but their families are from Austin, so it was a destination wedding for most guests. A huge group of their closest friends came to celebrate, support, and experience a little bit of Texas charm and tradition. I got to know the bride and her mom during her Woodbine Mansion bridal session a few months prior, and couldn’t wait for their Brazos Hall wedding!
For the perfect blend of rustic Texas style and modern Austin vibe, they chose to do an urban rooftop ceremony at a gorgeous downtown venue and the reception in the historic downstairs space. The Austin skyline was the perfect backdrop for these lovers of culture and travel, and the vibrant green “living wall” provided a stunning pop of color. Katie with Pearl Events was there every step of the way to ensure a gorgeous event design and perfectly executed wedding day timeline.
The bride wore fun two-piece dress by Watters that looked absolutely amazing on her and her very own fragrance! Christine made special perfume during her abroad travels called “Les Fleurs de Cristine,” and she’s waited months to wear it for the first time on her wedding day! The groom personalized his attire as well – initials on his sleeves and their wedding date embroidered under collar. Meanwhile, the bridesmaids wore subtle floral dresses by Jenny Yoo with soft pastel shades of yellow, green, cream and pink.
I needed a box of Kleenex for the first look with the bride and her father on The Driskill Hotel balcony. Her father wore a cute tie with “I Loved Your First” and childhood photo of the two of them embroidered on the back. The bride and groom’s first look was so emotional, as well! I loved how moved the groom was to see her for the first time. He cried at their first look, and then again when seeing the ceremony site for the first time. The look on his face as she walks down the aisle says it all. PURE LOVE.
The yellow and pink florals and fun succulents really brought everything to life, courtesy of Bouquets of Austin. “The Timkos” cutout hung in the background, symbolizing their new last names in their new life together. It all started at their Brazos Hall wedding on rooftop in downtown Austin, TX. For a New York touch, yellow taxi cab seat assignments honored their New York life in addition to the NYC city skyline projected over the bar. The bride even surprised the groom with a Popeye’s chicken themed ice cream groom’s cake—he was thrilled beyond imagination!
For the big reception exit out of Brazos Hall at the end of the night, the band broke into a smaller horn section and led the newlyweds out the front with a New Orleans style second line. The couple followed behind dancing, as guests held romantic sparklers. The bride wore a custom white satin jackets with “Clear Eyes. Full Hearts. We Do.” emblazoned on the back! Such a stylish bride, all the way through the exit!
We loved working with this family, and the amazing group of wedding vendors (see complete credits below)!
