This is what every couple hopes their wedding day to be – filled with all the love, laughter, and good times and nothing less. Rachel and Cody recently tied the knot at The LINE Hotel in Austin Texas, and it was nothing short of amazing!

It all started with a heart-melting ceremony that brought happy tears and lots of laughs. Then, the couple headed upstairs for a quiet moment together. In my opinion, The LINE has one of the prettiest rooftops among the downtown wedding venues. At sunset, the light flickers through the treetops. The large terrace is covered – a much-needed feature in Texas. Couples can enjoy the views and fresh air without dealing with the elements. Even better, the rooftop is home to P6, one of the hotel’s al fresco dining options. Couples can grab a refreshing cocktail – or even a quick bite – before joining their guests.

For Rachel and Cody, the rooftop, with its breathtaking views and colorful wallpaper, was the perfect place to get a few intimate couple’s portraits. Then, the newlyweds joined their friends and family inside for an evening of toasts, dancing, cake cutting, limbo, and even a bit of impromptu singing!

And I just have to say, Valerie Miller Events did an incredible job of planning and designing this couple’s special day. It was flawless from start to finish. From the dazzling floral arrangements to the centerpieces and even the table numbers, Rachel and Cody didn’t have to worry about a thing (and neither did Gia – she was fantastic to work with)!

About The LINE Hotel Austin

Rachel and Cody wanted a venue that truly felt like Austin with great views of the skyline, authentic Austin food, and an array of backdrops without having the traverse the city. The LINE was an obvious pick for them because they could keep the party all in one place for an exceptional wedding day experience.

The LINE Hotel Austin is the newest modern hotel on sparkling Ladybird Lake. Aptly named, the downtown hotel is primely situated right on the line where the city meets the lake. In the same sense, the architecture and design intentionally convey modern luxury without hindering the natural beauty of the area. What makes this hotel stand out among the rest is its distinct boutique feel with a modern, clean design. Almost every room features full-length windows. While many hotels feel dark because of their many interior rooms, this one lets in lots of natural light in the ballroom space. I especially love that their reception space showcases some of the best views of downtown and South Austin.

For their intimate wedding ceremony, Rachel and Cody chose a quiet chapel-like room, divided by white draping. A wall of windows shaded by overarching oak trees made for a gorgeous backdrop to exchange vows. You would never imagine a spot this dreamy could exist in the middle of the city – inside a hotel no less. It’s distinctly Austin – trendy with charm.

A Hotel that Gives Back

If you’re wondering how such a new venue could end up with a superior downtown location and mature trees all around, the answer is found in the hotel’s rich history. Since the 1960’s, this spot originally served as a vibrant jazz club and local radio broadcasting station. Although it underwent quite the transformation to become The LINE, the hotel strives to preserve the history and natural beauty that has always existed there. In turn, the hotel actively partners with community organizations to keep the culture alive. You’ve already heard about their rooftop patio and fantastic cocktails, but you have to take a look at this delicious menu, too! They offer breakfast and dinner, plus delivery options as well.

Vera Cruz All Natural

Here you’ll find some of THE best tacos and fresh juices! Two sisters from Veracruz, Mexico set up shop beneath the 12-story mural on Congress Avenue, and the rest was history. Business has been booming ever since. (Their breakfast tacos will hit the spot the next morning after a night of celebrating.)

You can’t walk through the hotel lobby without stopping here. The inviting scents of fresh brewed coffee and signature matcha are irresistible! (As a busy photographer, this a must for me and one of my favorite spots in the hotel.)

Arlo Grey & The Bar at Arlo Grey

Arlo Grey features a wide array of dishes carefully crafted by Chef Kristen Kish. If you’re a foodie, her dishes won’t disappoint. You and your guests will love her culinary creations, ideal for a formal dinner experience.
