Indian Hindu Wedding at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin TX
This Hindu wedding took place on a lovely spring day on the stunning back lawn of The Four Seasons Hotel in Austin, Texas – you really couldn’t ask for any more breathtaking scenery! The bride’s gorgeous ceremony dress was red with silver and gold stitching. And what a lucky gal – she even got to change into an exquisite purple *second dress* for the reception! The baraat (groom procession) involved riding atop a horse (so cool!) with an entourage of friends, family, and a live drummer leading the way. The bride’s parents greeted the groom near the mandap and put a sheet up to prevent him from seeing the bride walk up. The bride was escorted by her uncles to the mandap, then the sheet was dropped. The look on the groom’s face when he sees his bride for the first time is PRICELESS! Afterwards came the Jaimala, where the couple exchanged flower garlands as a gesture of acceptance, and a pledge to respect one another as partners. You could truly see the love written all over their faces as they stood together at the mandap. After the ceremony, the guests moved inside to the reception ballroom, decked out by Prashe Decor with tall overflowing floral vases, cream silk draped chairs, and pink and purple up-lighting. And without a doubt my favorite cake was the groom’s Nikon shaped cake (can I steal this idea even though I’m not a groom?)!!! After their announcement in the reception, the bride’s cousin performed a wonderful traditional Indian dance for the cheering crowd! Afterwards, tear jerking toasts were given by the father of the bride and the groom’s sister. Everyone was full of joy and excitement towards the end of the night, especially with super fun and talented DJ Manny getting the party started on the turntables! Congrats on this fabulous Four Seasons wedding!
