Mia Bella Vita Houston Wedding Photography :: Sue & Frank

Sometimes what it takes to find the love of your life is the help of your friends and a little twist of fate. This is the story of Frank and Sue. Neither of them lived in the same city but when Sue came down to Austin one night to hang out with her friends, they bumped into an old college buddy who then introduced her Frank. The sparks instantly flew…..for Frank at least. It wasn’t until an unexpected rainstorm and a cancelled concert some time later that they had another opportunity to see each other again. His charm, their shared love for all things food, and their innate ability to bring out the best in each other made it a first date to end all first dates. Three years and three pups later, Frank and Sue made it official and tied the knot in Houston at Mia Bella Vita. Sue and her girls spent some quality time that morning sharing fun stories and gushing over Sue’s flawless makeup. I knew this was going to be a fun party when the bridesmaids skipped out on the traditional champagne and straight for the vodka. When it came time for their first look, you could feel the anticipation the moments before Sue walked up to Frank and tapped him on his shoulder. The smile that swept across his face was a look of pure happiness. That kind of joy radiated through all the guests and it just stayed with us for the rest of the evening. After they exchanged their rings, we walked around the nearby field to do some soft, sunset portraits before returning back to the ballroom for the festivities. That night’s party was filled with dancing, Texas BBQ, and a delicious tower of donuts that was so tempting it barely made it to the cake cutting! I have to admit, the highlight of the evening wasn’t just Sue’s dad’s fantastic dance moves, it was not just one, but TWO over the top toasts from Sue’s bridesmaids. Her first bridesmaid rapped a summary of Frank and Sue’s courtship to the musical stylings of Coolio’s – “Gangster’s Paradise”. Then to everyone’s surprise, her maid of honor brought out a ukulele and performed her own rendition of their love story. The room exploded in applause for these two talented ladies. As for myself, I feel like all toasts have now been ruined for me. The bar has been set too high. I have just experienced the best. Frank and Sue, I’m incredibly happy and thankful to be able to spend this time with you both. The two of you share the kind of love and friendship that most can only dream of one day finding.
