Seaholm Power Plant Engagement Photos

Lauren & David’s wedding is only 3 short weeks away, and I’m counting down the days until these love birds tie the knot! As downtown Austin continues to grow at a rapid pace, I continue to love searching for cool new session spots to photograph at. I ❤️ finding new locations downtown to create memorable and unique images for my couples! We had such a blast walking around downtown Austin creating these Seaholm Power Plant engagement photos, and I know their wedding day will be just as much fun. Stay tuned for the wedding photos coming to the blog soon!

Martha Lynn & Trevor :: Taking the Plunge at The Wild Onion :: Engagement Session

Martha Lynn & Trevor are actually neighbors of mine, but we had no idea until recently! I first met Martha Lynn while photographing her for the “Rarest of the All” issue which she had been featured in about a year ago. Over this past year, Martha Lynn & I have worked closely together on several fashion photo shoots (Kathleen, Cassidy & Dani’s Bridal Fashion Session). While her specialty is hair, she is pretty much a genius with make-up too. Check out her portfolio here to see what I mean. Well as it turns out, our team work  landed us on the red carpet this past August for the 2010 Austin Fashion Awards.  At the end of the week, Martha Lynn had won “People’s Choice Best Hair Stylist” and I had won “Critic’s Pick Best Photographer” & “Best Product Photographer”. So as you can see, the stakes are pretty high because this is one fashionable stylist who has seen a lot of photography in her day!

When I heard that Trevor had popped the question, I wasn’t surprised. These two are a perfect fit, no doubt in my mind! And while I am happy to have Martha Lynn & Trevor as friends, I am especially proud to have the honor of shooting their big day. It’s pretty much the ultimate flattery and I consider myself so lucky to be a part of their wedding!austin engagement photographer

And as a FINALE to the session, we hit the pool for a super cute “Save The Date” card idea… see if you can figure it out, and then check out the final product at the bottom. I wish more couples were this adventerous – it simply makes for an unforgettable statement – and there’s no telling what kind of awesomeness we’ll see at their weddig next April!

Rae Ann & Sean :: Flirty, Romantic & Fun Engagement Portraits!

Rae Ann & Sean entered for our first meeting and I could immediately tell that I *WANTED TO SHOOT THEIR WEDDING*! In addition to so clearly adoring each other, their truly hilarious sense of humor only endeared them to me more. When they showed up for our session with light sabers, cowboy hats, handcuffs, white go-go boots, and a Star Trek shirt, I knew we were going to have a blast.  I swear the 2 hour shoot went by in what seemed like 5 minutes! We started in the studio, then hopped down to Red River Street, and finally to the Long Center. And OH THE CRUSHING disappointment! We wanted to shoot in the squirty fountains, but the water had been shut off. :( So brainstorming what other fountain options we had, we decided to hit a fountain in front of an office building downtown. We knew there was a possibility that we’d get kicked out, so they jumped in and we took photos at lightning speed. And right about the time we were taking the last shot, the sun set in-between two buildings in the background, and I fell in love with this shoot forever!
