Kimpton Hotel Van Zandt Wedding | Austin Wedding Photographer

This fearlessly fun couple from San Diego traveled with their closest friends and family (quite a few of them!) to Austin, Texas for their wedding day. I got a glimpse of how much fun Amy and John would be to work with when they told me their love story started at a silent disco! These two definitely know how to live it to the fullest together. And their wedding day represented their awesome personality from start to finish, just as it should be.

The big day

After the “getting ready” photos, I met them in the hotel mezzanine to capture their private and heartfelt first look. They cried happy tears as they saw each other for the first time, ready to step out in this new adventure together. I enjoyed taking all the creative, modern couple’s portraits around hotel—there were so many great backdrops and photo opportunities! Check out those romantic, edgy closeups in front of the fire.

After relaxing and getting into a groove together, it was time for the ceremony. Their personal vows made even the most stoic guests shed a tear. Amy shared story about how John proposed on her father’s birthday (who was incredibly missed on her wedding day—you will see several toasts to the sky for him and a bouquet charm with his photo & handkerchief on it.)

Next, it was time to get their dance moves on. This group knew how to party—easily one of the best receptions I’ve attended. I don’t think anyone left early. John’s dad broke his foot and was stuck maneuvering a scooter with a hot pink cast, but he didn’t let that stop him from getting out on the dance floor a few times (definitely made for some hilarious pictures).

If you’re familiar with the trend, they got ICED at their own wedding reception (thank you to wedding planner Jen &Smirnoff)! Amy & John took it all in stride, dropped to one knee, and took it like champs! To keep up the energy for dancing (or even breakdancing), they served ice cream sandwiches at reception.

And for the finale, Amy and John took advantage of the hundreds of white balloons for a photo op during their reception, and then used them for their final exit! It was stunning.

Thanks to the spectacular event planners Pearl Events, one of the best DJs from Austin Pro DJ, beautiful florals from Bouquets of Austin, and hair & makeup by Adore, everything went off without a hitch for this epic destination wedding. Congrats, Amy and John! I wish you both the very best!

Canyonwood Ridge Wedding :: Hallye & Bayne

Hallye and Bayne’s spring Canyonwood Ridge wedding was planned and coordinated by Pearl Events. The couple’s wedding day was truly a stunning in every way! The bride wore her mom’s vintage Bianchi gown, which was updated by Coutures By Laura, while preserving the beautiful lace, beading, and tons of seed pearls. I can’t imagine a sweeter sentiment for a bride and her daughter! With fear of rain and windy conditions, the ceremony was moved inside. The light inside the chapel area was soft and dreamy for the couple’s romantic ceremony. Bayne wasn’t able to hold back his tears when he saw the gorgeous Hallye escorted down the aisle. Hallye’s giant smile lit up every room she entered, and you can tell from all the photos that she literally enjoyed every minute of her wedding day! The entire bridal party was looking dapper, and I particularly loved the unique lavender and white striped bridesmaid dresses, as well as the groom’s white tuxedo jacket. The colorful flowers by Bouquets of Austin brought fun and whimsy to the ceremony backdrop and table tops. Some centerpieces even reflected the butterfly theme seen throughout the decor that day, in memory of Hallye’s father. It was extremely windy when we went outside for photos, but we used it to our advantage to showcase Hallye’s gorgeous veil! After a delicious comfort food dinner by Royal Fig, The Pictures Band pumped up the jams and the dance floor went crazy! Guests swung glow sticks around, and the whole wedding party even got on stage to dance as the bride’s sister sang along with the band for one song. The confetti drop wowed everyone and was a fun surprise! As a finale to the reception, the couple exited to a sea of sparklers into their getaway car. Huge congratulations Hallye & Bayne!
