Brooke & Jeremy :: Awesome Austin Engagement Session!

When I have a couple this *cool, stylish & sweet* come across my radar, I literally get giddy with excitement about their photos! Brooke & Jeremy already had a few location ideas in mind that I loved, so we hit 3 locations in this epic engagement session. First up was Daniel Johnston’s “Hi How Are You” mural which is an Austin classic. It’s quirky, it’s cute… it’s perfect for engagement photos really! Next up we hit the Castle Hill ruins covered in amazing graffiti, vintage wallpaper and a raw concrete structure. The sun was just started to set through the trees and the magic just began to unfold as they cuddled in abandoned concrete walls and climbed crumbled ruins. When a couple is this in love, it just SHOWS.:)We only had about 30 minutes to shoot a few more photos at Zilker Botanical Gardens, but it made a fun game of running around while avoiding the golf cart cop who was trying to kick us out. We even got to see a little bit of Brooke & Jeremy’s yoga moves. I can’t wait until April for what I imagine will be one AMAZING wedding day! Happy New Year indeed!!!

Not your mother’s wedding album! | Austin, Texas Wedding photography

I’m so excited to showcase this new wedding album design from Megan & William’s wedding at The Winfield Inn. It’s a bit different than your average square album weighing in at 12.5″ x 5″. It’s the perfect solution to make all your friends jealous, or something you would like to give as a gift to your parents! I love the unique longer shape, which opens up horizontally into huge awesome photo spread! The grey and lime green colors are pulled from the color scheme and perfectly compliment the metal inlayed cover image. If I could marry this album, I would. Or kiss it,  at least.  Produced with UV coated photographic prints mounted on thick pages and options including panoramic or split binding, metal cameo’s and the finest Italian leathers, these flushmount albums are undeniably the highest standard of quality, beauty, and craftsmanship. Paper Options Include: Photo Luster: Kodak’s Supra Endura with UV coating or Photo Metallic: Upgrade to Kodak’s Metallic Endura with UV coating and Linen Texture. When you are looking for a heirloom product to pass down to generations after you, this is it!

Meg & Travis :: New Years Eve Wedding at the W Hotel in Austin, TX

I’ve been excited about Meg & Travis’ big New Year’s Eve wedding at the W Hotel all year! It went above and beyond my imagination with it’s modern high-fashion vibe, vibrant color palette, ghost chairs, and of course… a really fabulous couple! But the wedding was also about family, and the couple made sure to emphasize the sweet moments as well. In memory of her dad, Meg’s dress was accessorized with a hand-sewn blue heart from one of his old baseball jerseys. The perfect “something blue”. Full of joy and smiles, Meg’s Godfather Gino walked her down the aisle to an ecstatic Travis. The look on his face was priceless.  Clink & Prive Floral blew my camera’s mind with the creative and lush reception set-up. At the strike of midnight, the couple took the stage over from the band and counted down in front of a giant LED screen, followed by confetti canons and noise makers as the clock struck midnight. This group of friends and family sure knew how to party, but the reception ended with a bang when the bride and groom crowd surfed their way through the last song. AWESOME!!!

Sarah & Jeff :: Quirky Vulcan Video and St. Edwards University Engagement Photos

Sarah & Jeff aren’t getting married until January of 2013, but we all thought it would be cool to go ahead and do their engagement session now! They were looking for a little more of a “fun”, a little less “traditional”, so we hit some of their favorite Austin spots in this south Austin engagement session. First up was Vulcan Video where we raided the cult section (their favorite genre). Did you ever notice the crazy igloo shaped brick alcove in the back of Vulcan? Me neither, but it sure made for cool photos!  Next we hit the road making our way down south to their alma matter, St. Ed’s University. (Did I mention Sarah is brilliant and just finished defending her Master’s thesis when we did this shoot? True story!) At the very end, we shot the couple with their CATS! Ok, cat photos. But STILL, I love that idea! Couples will often bring their dogs for the photos, so why not the cats.?!  I now feel guilty that I didn’t include my cat in our Christmas cards. I am a bad cat owner now. Anyway, I really appreciated the awesomeness of this unique idea!

Mansion at Judges’ Hill Wedding in Austin, TX :: Courtney & Jason

Courtney & Jason’s wedding was the perfect exclamation point to the end of my November weddings! After shooting their Domain engagement session and Courtney’s CTC Gardens bridal photos, I knew this night would be a show stopper!  Held at one of my favorite downtown venues, The Mansion at Judge’s Hill was the perfect backdrop for this sunset patio ceremony and took place right when the fall Austin weather was at it’s best. These high school sweethearts started out with a sweet and sentimental “first look” on the veranda, followed by their wedding gift exchange. The sentimental penny theme went from Jason’s new cuff links, all the way down the ceremony aisle, and scattered among the guest tables. The pennies represented Courtney’s Papa, who was a very important part of her life and recently passed on. Blossom Floral Artistry did an amazing job creating a ceremony backdrop of crystal beads combined with yellow and fuchsia orchids. Gorgeous! As the sun set, the couple exchanged their vows and headed upstairs to get the party started. Talk about a family of dancers – everyone tore up the dance floor all night long – with a short break only to cut the cakes and fuel back up. The groom’s cake, an EL CAMINO on a RICE KRISPY road, blew me away with it’s awesomeness. You know you want a bite! The end of the night came to a close with a romantic horse & carriage exit.
