How do I even begin a blog post when it’s about one of my best girlfriends’ wedding? I can’t even put into words how much I love these guys. I’ve know Hope for at least 6 years, and we’ve seen each other through a lot of ups and downs, so when I found out her and Noah had gotten engaged, I was absolutely giddy for them! And because we wanted to get our dance party on during her reception, I just shot her “getting ready” through shortly after her ceremony when another photographer took over photos. My boyfriend Tom & I also did a surprise performance of “Islands in the Stream” by Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers, so I had to have some time to warm up the vocal chords, you know?
But seriously, the Perkins family girls are pretty much known as the Holy Grail of craftiness in the DIY crafting scene. Mom Fredda, an avid antique collector and crafter, made the stunning bridal brooch bouquets from vintage finds, and sister Jen is the force behind jewelry queen Naughty Secretary Club and Blogher, while the bride Hope is single-handedly one of the funniest and most talented artist I’ve ever met. Operating under the business Hot Pink Pistol, Hope has won countless accolades for her 3-d painting and glitter pom-pomed taxidermy. So when you see glittered high heels, bedazzled guest books, giant 3d tigers and animal heads in centerpieces, you won’t have to wonder who made them. It’s entirely a family affair, rooted firmly in Hope’s love of color and bling. I feel so luck to have been part of such a special day and hope that you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed being a part of it!
