Last summer, The Barr Mansion was hit by lighting, causing a huge fire that left irreparable damage. Emily and Flint’s wedding marked the first month of weddings at the newly rebuilt space, so we were all giddy to celebrate! Emily’s impeccable taste, combined with Flint’s design skills, made for a classic but modern affair. Emily has to be one of the most laid back brides I have ever worked with- she even waited until her wedding day to try on her dress, but it fit her perfect and she looked so stunning! Before the ceremony, we had some fun and even got a few shots of Emily in the clawfoot bathtub- – thanks for being up for anything!I might have teared up just a little when Emily’s dad walked her down the aisle. I could tell from her dad’s face that he was so happy and proud of her! The sun set to perfection right as the cermony ended and we were able to get just a few more gorgeous shots in front of the old historic front house.
After that, the party was ready to begin! The Barr Mansion has some of my favorite catering in town – a yummy organic menu, plus to-die-for desserts. The cake topper by Stems was a perfect match to the bridal bouquet with loads of cool lilies, green orchids and purple succulents, and the groom’s cheesecake was perfectly decadent. After chowing down, the guests chimed in for the “Broom Dance” – a hilarious family tradition where the brothers of the groom have to do a dance with the brooms. I laughed so hard that I thought my face would crack. The night was finished off with a super energetic dance party – with plenty of Lady Gaga for Flint (he kinda loves her). The couple was sent off with sparklers and well wishes. What a blast!
