HO HO HO… MERRY CHRISTMAS from Cory Ryan Photography!

Have you ever dressed up in a Santa costume with your significant other and ran around Austin taking self-portraits? I gotta tell you, it was a BLAST (and they might be lying when they say “one size fits all”)! We certianly got the car honks to prove other people enjoyed watching us as well. :) From my family to yours, I sincerely wish you all the happiness and success in the world!

This year’s holiday card is extra special to us, as our 13 year old beagle Jaipur, passed away the day after these were taken.  Jaipur was truly the sweetest, kindest, most loving dog I’ve ever had the honor of knowing and he will be missed so much! Cheers to Jaipur and sweet puppies everywhere – these photos will be cherished forever! XOXO, Cory

And here’s the final holiday postcard I sent out! I found a cool shimmery paper for them to be printed on for just the right amount of holiday “bling”!

Behind The Scenes with Cory Ryan {Eye Candy Photography}

It’s not everyday you can get a chance to “meet” me without really meeting me! 512Unscriptedaccompanied me several weeks ago on a fashion shoot with my commercial business Eye Candy Photography. Co-hostDeborah Toodledid a fun interview with me at the studio space, and even came out to see my band Hollywood Gossip play and shoot footage during SXSW. While I know most of you are on the blog because you are interested in wedding photography or portraits, I thought this would at least give you a little peek into me and my world! PLUS, who says you can’t treat your bridal portrait session like a real studio fashion shoot? Put yourself in the model’s shoes and let’s create some amazing photos of you in your wedding dress!!!

Eye Candy Photography :: {Kathleen :: Just For Fun!}

Every once in a while, I get in creative moods when I just want to shoot something different just for fun! You know, keep that creative energy fresh and work on some personal projects. Well, it’s been 3 months since my Holga shows at Austin Art Garage and Thunderbird Coffee, so I figured it was time for something new. Which is when my alter-ago commercial company Eye Candy Photography comes into play! After hanging out with fellow Austin Fashion Awards nominee, hairstylist Martha Lynn Barnes a few times, I found out she felt the exact same way! And I met gorgeous model Kathleen Carmichael at my show opening at Thunderbird… the planets were aligning and I took this as a sign to finally organize a fun fashoin shoot. With Martha’s help, her talented colleague Alli Sato, who also works at Jose Luis Salon, came on board for make-up! And alas, here are the fruits of our labor… Enjoy!

Strickland Family

The more kids, the merrier! Walking into the Strickland home was like having all my photographic family backdrops come true… Cool furniture, check. Bold colors, check.  Awesome parents, check… and lots of cool nooks for photos! Highsmith immediately wooed me with his toy guitar riffs and high energy enthusiasm. Hazel was in awe of the camera and was enjoying watching her brother’s antics. Dad was the only one with his special song that could get a guaranteed smile!  So here are a few of my favorite shots from this family day photo session… :)
