This stunning wedding ceremony took place on the sacred Texas ranch that the bride’s family has owned for over 100 years! It really doesn’t get any more special than that! Caroline & Jeremy’s wedding was truly a family affair, with the bride’s aunt Paula Cox creating and printing their invitations on handmade bamboo paper, while her daughter was the maid of honor, and her son was the officiant. Pearl Events took the reigns and nailed the couple’s goal, which was for the guests to experience their ranch wedding as natural, simple and peaceful. Caroline & Jeremy did a special first look on the rooftop balcony of the Historic Rocksprings Hotel, where the girls got ready. The couple read special cards they had written each other, and Caroline teared up a little at Jeremy’s words. Then off for fun photos around the small town square before caravanning out to the family ranch. The couple exchanged vows on a beautifully built infinity dock over the damn on the river, making for breathtaking 360 degree views. Flower petals floated in the river, in remembrance of all the family members that passed before them. Then a delicious dinner was served on the Rocksprings square at the Jailhouse back in town, with gorgeous spring florals decorating the tables by Posey, and gold dinnerware to die for! This ranch wedding was followed by a fancy cocktail party the following evening at Mercury Hall in Austin, TX… stay tuned for blog highlights of that party soon! You can sign up for event notification and order prints here when the photos are ready!

I was absolutely overjoyed to receive an email from Fayre’s mother that she was tying the knot to her long-term boyfriend Dustin! I had the pleasure of getting to know this lovely family back in 2010 for her brother’s wedding at Horseshoe Bay Resort, and couldn’t be any more excited to head off to Washington DC for this gorgeous wedding as well. The couple has been living in the Leesburg, VA area for a while now, and chose to tie the knot in their new home town, so we hopped on a plane to be there too! We started out the day at Lansdowne Resort where everyone got ready together, before we headed off to this classy Morven Park wedding. The sprawling 1,000 acre park features a historic shady oak where the couple said their vows, as well as a stunning hillside southern plantation-style mansion where the reception took place. The whole park was so lush and green for July, and we loved wandering through the gorgeous gardens for photos! As the sun went down on the hillside, the mansion lit up with cobalt blue lights, and the guests feasted on a delicious dinner, complete with an incredible dessert bar featuring yummy cupcakes in flavors like bananas foster and churro! Everyone danced the night away, until it was time for the couples final dance and exit. Planned to perfection by Simplicity Events, this wedding was pure perfection in every way! Congrats Fayre & Dustin!

I’m not going to apologize for this unusually long blog post, because I am just so in love with so many of these photos. :) This New York City wedding elopement was hands down one of my favorites! Sweet and intimate from start to finish, Kasey & Jake made their day exactly the way they wanted it. Kasey hand-bound her DIY pink and white peonies from the nearby flower market, and paired her chic J. Crew wedding dress with hot blue Kate Spade heels and cobalt stud earrings. The couple started out getting ready together at the fabulously hip Smythe Tribeca, and Jake even zipped Kasey into her dress – very sweet and non-traditional! The bridal party all hopped into taxis, and off we went to The High Line. For those of you that have never been, the High Line is a 1-mile New York City linear park built on a section of the elevated former New York Central Railroad – SUPER COOL! After we got to our spot, the 2 witnesses and the handsome officiant performed the ceremony with the bustling city behind them and a handful of people enjoying it all! It was an emotional ceremony, written by the bride and groom themselves, complete with personalized vows. Kasey cried, the ring bearer Stacey cried, and the photographer cried. Whew! After a brief celebration with hugs all around, the couple swapped bites of the heavenly Ladurée macarons, a Parisian company world-famous for these treats. From there, everyone went over to the Nolita gem PUBLIC Restaurant to celebrate with an amazing meal with friends! Big congrats Kasey & Jake!!!
These next two blog posts are going to be extremely hard to write. That’s because Kasey & Jake are really close to my heart, and it’s so hard to put into words what an honor it was to shoot the NYC destination engagement and intimate wedding of these two awesome Austin wedding photographers! It’s often overheard at weddings “They are just perfect for each other”, and while it may sound like a cliche, these two are literally PERFECT for each other. And throw in the added bonus of the amazing eye candy of Manhattan and Brooklyn as your engagement photography backdrop… well it’s just magic! It was fun to be a New York wedding photographer, even if just for one weekend. Enjoy just a few of my favorites from this destination engagement session. :)
I don’t even know how to begin putting this magical trip into words! Stacey happens to be one of my best friends, and it just so happens I was a bridesmaid in her wedding this fall. So for her bachelorette party, a group of ladies (mostly all wedding photographer), hopped on a plane to San Diego to help her celebrate. We then adventured our way up to Palm Springs to stay at the iconic Ace Hotel. The place was to die for, and I’m already itching to go back again soon. While on vacation, we did what most photographers do, and took lots of photos. With one special addition, Stacey in her gorgeous BHLDN wedding dress!!! Our caravan ended up at the outskirts of Joshua Tree State Park at sunset, with magical results. I still can’t get over how gorgeous Stacey is in all her bridal portraits, and how perfect this dress looks on her. Love you Stacey! Enjoy, my friends…
