Lauren & David’s wedding is only 3 short weeks away, and I’m counting down the days until these love birds tie the knot! As downtown Austin continues to grow at a rapid pace, I continue to love searching for cool new session spots to photograph at. I ❤️ finding new locations downtown to create memorable and unique images for my couples! We had such a blast walking around downtown Austin creating these Seaholm Power Plant engagement photos, and I know their wedding day will be just as much fun. Stay tuned for the wedding photos coming to the blog soon!
This sweet couple drove in all the way to Austin, TX from Midland, TX for their Lady Bird lake engagement photos! With a drive like that, the stakes are high to make sure this session was 100% awesome. Not to mention it was Jared’s birthday was the actual day of the session, so I felt a little bad making him get up so early (but summer evenings in Austin are 🔥 ya’ll!). But then I didn’t feel bad because they 💕 their photos as much as I do.
The bride-to-be Leeann requested a little bit if nature, and a little bit of urban city. Featured in this session are some super great locations, including Ai Weiwei’s “Forever Bicycles” art installation, Town Lake (or Ladybird Lake if you just moved here), the Austin city skyline, plus the Congress Street bat bridge and 2 Austin art murals including “I Burn For You.” There are so many great moments where these two sizzle up the frame, I can hardly stand it! Best of luck to this beautiful couple as they tie the knot in Pittsburg soon! <3

It was so much fun to be a part of this surprise proposal! I arrived early to the house where Colton planned to propose to Allie. I sat crouched down, anxiously hiding behind a second floor balcony column before their arrival to the house so I could be in a prime position to capture the proposal. Usually I just try to blend in with the public or pretend to be a tourist photographer in these types of public situations, so this was a fun-but-nerve-wracking little challenge to truly HIDE! It’s so much fun to be an Austin proposal photographer!
The fountain of the pool was loud and obscured the sound of my shutter, so Allie didn’t even hear me, even after I started to take photos. As Colton dropped to one knee, I couldn’t help but root for him (C’mon, say YES!). And with an immaculate pool and Colorado River as a backdrop, I can’t imagine a more perfectly romantic location to get engaged. We walked the property for some gorgeous photos afterwards to commemorate the occasion, then followed it up with an incredible engagement party at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse, where all their friends and family were waiting to congratulate them! <3 Congratulations Colton & Allie, and thanks for letting me document your surprise Austin proposal!
I’ve been looking forward to Erin and Tom’s upcoming Cinco De Mayo wedding since getting to know them at their Butler Park engagement session. Dressed in bright and bold colors, with a Mexican party hat ready for their adorable puppy, I could tell instantly that this would be a fun couple! In just a small walk around this urban park nestled in the heart of central south Austin, we were able to get 3 different incredible views of the downtown Austin skyline, including one of my favorite reflections in the windows of the Long Center. We lucked out with the most beautiful moody orange sky for some sunset silhouettes to end the session with a bang! I am eagerly awaiting your bridal portraits and wedding day, Erin & Tom!
This Austin, TX based couple was off to India to tie the knot just weeks after this downtown Austin engagement session took place! We used the backdrop of the 2nd Street District and Ladybird Lake for a creative combo of colorful murals, romantic twinkle lights, and the beautiful water for our backdrops. All in all, the best of all worlds that Austin has to offer for the best Austin Indian engagement photos!
It was so much fun to wander around town with you two, and witness all the loves, smiles and hugs you have for each other. Congrats you two lovebirds! View more Indian wedding and engagement photos from the blog by clicking here.
