Austin Same Sex Wedding on Andy & Dennis’ 45th Anniversary!

It’s hard to put into words what an honor it was to photograph Dennis & Andy’s wedding. On their 45th anniversary, the couple was able to legally tie the knot with the gorgeous view of Lake Travis as a backdrop. 45 years!!! Dennis & Andy met and lived in New York City for the majority of their relationship, before leaving the Big Apple for Austin, Texas! When same sex marriage was legalized in June of 2015, this couple decided they wanted to have a wedding to coincide with their big upcoming anniversary. As the couple’s many friends and family toasted, it became apparent that Andy & Dennis already epitomized the best characteristics of a solid marriage! We had a blast photographing couple’s portraits all around the expansive Oasis restaurant and events center, and below are just a few of my favorites from the day. Shortly before sunset, the couple walked out hand in hand to exchange their vows with judge Jan Breland. At one point, both Andy & Dennis had to pull out their tissue to dab at their emotional tears. The Matchmaker Band played a romantic first dance for the couple, followed by some upbeat party tunes that got guests on the dance floor. The couple cut a gorgeous 3 tier blue cake by Blue Note Bakery, and tabletops were decorated with colorful blooms from Central Market. Huge congratulations go out to the Andy & Dennis on their Austin same sex wedding, and thanks so much for including us in your big day!
